Thanksgiving Porch Thank Yous

“Dude, porches be cool.”

Porches be cool and are very thankful locations.  They are a thankful place to be because when you find yourself hanging out on a porch, you’re not out there, nor are you in there either.

You’re not out there:

  • In traffic somewhere
  • In a line at a grocery store
  • At work producing or promoting your products, services, or solutions
  • Looking for parking options, or your next connection for public transportation
  • At the doctor’s office or dentist’s office

Technically, you’re not in there either inside your home:

  • Hearing the TV or music of others
  • Responding to family dramas
  • Operating home appliances like the laundry machines, vacuums, or dishwashers
  • Policing the backyard, or deck
  • Instigating political comments about our blowhard POTUS.

Porches are tranquil places to view and enjoy nearby nature, neighbors, and the changing weather.  It’s a bit of a crime that new housing has often erased our option to add our porches.

If we were together on this Thanksgiving, while family shenanigans, the football games/video game competitions were blaring inside, I would imagine that we would be outside on the porch sharing some refreshments and sharing some Thank Yous together.

To help us generate our virtual Thanksgiving Porch Thank Yous moment, what we need is some good porch music like John Klemmer’s My Love Has Butterfly Wings

Play this track over and over and over again for a while, and, I think, it will be easy to think about items and say thank you out loud!

I’ll get us started, I’m thankful for:

  • My darling wife, and family
  • All our good health
  • That airplanes were invented 52 years before I was born.  They have been extremely helpful for us to visit Europe five times already, Canada, Mexico, as well as traveling around the good old United States of America
  • My college degree, and continued career successes
  • All our field trips and vacations that have introduced us to different people, different shopping options, different architectures, and different glorious moments in the wilderness.
  • Our friendship!

Until we’re together again in the same zip code sharing a real porch moment somehow, we can have this virtual one today cutesy of the internet!

Happy Thanksgiving!  Enjoy!
