About

Imagine flying around the world fifty-five years ago.

Back then, if you were going very far, there were very few direct flights to anywhere you might want to go.  Instead, there were many regional airlines which meant you needed to string together multiple flights with multiple airlines at multiple airports to visit the other side the world.

Blog-graphic1Hello!  My name is Ed Kinon, and I am dedicating my writing blog to those travelers.

I imagine they had extra time during their exotic flights, or at airports, to write down their thoughts.  Seeing different lands and talking with other peoples allowed them to reinterpret their world.  Traveling allowed them to connect all the dots differently.  As they wrote to their friends and lovers, they probably surprised themselves on the ideas they choose to share.

I expect this blog will surprise me too as I reinterpret my world.

To help you get in the mood for this type of correspondence, I will be posting old airline luggage labels with each post as though someone else might have had similar thoughts back then and they had just added another airline label to their luggage.  I’m a very big fan of these graphics and I have collected some on a Pinterest page if you want to see more: https://www.pinterest.com/kinoned/graphics-airline-labels/

My ultimate destination on this blog may change.  However, as I depart, I will be saluting others, and stringing together my own ideas on marketing, sales, customer service, art, entertainment, travels, health, and more.

As they say in the movies, “Fasten your seatbelts. It’s going to be a bumpy night.”

ABOUT THE EDITOR, ED KINON

I am a bit of a salesman, and a story teller.  I graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communications way before there was a true internet.

I have told stunning stories using cameras as a public relations photographer in New York City and San Francisco and, using sales skills/desktop publishing techniques, I have told great stories in the photo equipment industry, the business machine industry, the cellular phone industry, and the alternative-health nutraceutical industry.

I enjoy identifying and sharing extraordinary stories with rich details and graceful graphics that can enhance the perception of a product, service, or brand.

I often use analogies along the way in my descriptions, and naturally, I enjoy traveling around the world too!  So far, I’ve traveled around the USA with stops in Los Angeles, San Diego, New York City, Chicago, Washington DC, Boston, Miami, Seattle, Portland, Phoenix, Yosemite, and The Grand Canyon.  I’ve visited Canada three times (Victoria, Vancouver, Montreal), and Mexico twice (Puerto Vallarta, Tronconnes/Zihuatanejo).  I’ve been to Europe five times visiting England, France, Italy, Austria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland and Russia.  And, I’ve made one trip to China visiting Shanghai, and Hong Kong.

Occasionally, in my updates, I will mention someone named Sharon.  She is my darling wife who loves to travel too!

Bon Voyage!
